Maplestory GMS – Blaster

Blaster is now available in Maplestory GMS alongside Act 3 of the Heroes of Maple Story.

Blaster is a new resistance class that utilizes a two-handed arm cannon, now is the best time to level up Blaster since there is a level-up event that will reward equipment up to level 80, followed by Heroes Coin and a permanent pet.

Blaster is a new Resistance character that makes use of his Arm Cannon (primary weapon) and Explosive Charge (secondary weapon) to cause mayhem amongst his enemies! Make use of Blaster to create large explosions, wreak havoc, and do massive damage today!

Please note that for a limited time after Blaster’s release, Blaster characters will not be allowed to be created using Character Cards, and will not be able to participate in the Burning Project event.

Blaster characters utilize a new system called the Dynamo Gauge. Consume ammo from this gauge to use certain skills. Using the Revolving Cannon skill in combination with other skills will inflict more damage—and more explosions—to enemies. In addition, consuming ammo from the Dynamo Gauge using Revolving Cannon will fill the gauge’s power levels. Max out the power levels to unleash a massive attack, Bunker Buster Explosion! Be warned, though; after using Bunker Buster Explosion, the Dynamo Gauge will overheat, initiating a cooldown where the power levels are unable to be filled.

Skills

Blaster 1st Job

  • Magnum Punch: Use the Arm Cannon to throw a heavy punch laden with explosive power! Can be used with Revolving Cannon. Can be linked to Double Blast.
    • Level 20: MP Cost: 12. Enemies Hit: 6. Damage: 75%. Number of Attacks: 3.
  • Revolving Cannon: Use the Arm Cannon to consume ammo from the Dynamo Gauge and cause additional explosions to be added to certain Blaster skills. This skill cannot be used by itself. Skills that Revolving Cannon can be combo’d with: Magnum Punch, Double Blast, and Revolving Blast.Hold down the button mapped to this skill to reload the Ammo in the Dynamo Gauge.
  • Bunker Buster Explosion: Deplete the Dynamo Gauge to release a massive explosion and accompanying shockwave to deal immense damage to enemies. A minimum of 3 power level bars on the Dynamo Gauge is needed to use this skill. Each additional bar above 3 will release additional shockwaves.
    • Level 10: Initial Explosion: Max Enemies Hit: 10. Damage: 100%. Number of Attacks: 8. Melee hits ignore 80% of enemies’ Defense Rate. Max Damage: 99,999,999.
    • Shockwave 1: Max Enemies Hit: 10. Damage: 50%. Number of Attacks: 6.
  • Double Jump: Harness unbridled explosive power to propel through the air once more after jumping.
    • Level 10: MP Cost: 5. Increases jump distance.
  • Detonate: Use Ammo from the Dynamo Gauge to thrust through the air in the opposite direction from which you are facing. The resulting explosion will damage enemies. Holding the up arrow while using this skill will thrust upwards.
    • Level 10: Ammo Cost: 1. Max Enemies Hit: 6. Damage: 155%. Number of Attacks: 2.
  • Blast Shield: When attacked, generate a protective shield proportional to the damage taken. While this shield is active and using a Blaster Skill, you will not be knocked back by enemy attacks.
    • Level 10: When hit, convert 40% of damage taken into a protective shield. Maximum shield potential is equal to the character’s MaxHP. 40% +50 of the shield’s HP dissipates each second.
    • When the Shield is active: 100% chance of not being knocked back while using Blaster Skills.
    • Power Stance Chance: +40%. Weapon DEF: +200. MaxHP: +20%.
  • Revolving Cannon Mastery: Causes direct attacks to do more damage when the Dynamo Gauge is overheating. Affected skills/attacks: Magnum Punch, Double Blast, Hammer Smash, Shotgun Punch, Ballistic Hurricane, Muzzle Flash, and Hyper Magnum Punch. When at least one bar of the Dynamo Gauge is filled, direct attacks will trigger additional attacks which deal 75% damage, 1 time. For each extra bar, the damage of the additional attack is increased by 10%.
    • Movement Speed: +30. Jump Power: +15. Max Movement Speed: +20.

Blaster 2nd Job

  • Double Blast: Perform a two-hit combo in the direction you are facing. This skill can also be triggered by repeatedly pressing the Magnum Punch button. Can be linked to Bobbing, Weaving,Hammer Smash, and Shotgun Punch.
    • Level 20: MP Cost: 20. Enemies hit: 6. Damage: 130%. Number of Attacks: 4.
  • Bobbing: Explode forward while avoiding enemy attacks. Can be stopped by jumping. Can be charged.
    • Level 15: MP Cost: 9. Avoidability: +90% for 1.5 seconds after activation. Magnum Punch damage: +90% points.
  • Arm Cannon Boost: Doubles the attack speed of the Arm Cannon.
    • Level 10: MP Cost: 11. Duration: 200 seconds. Weapon Attack Speed: +2.
  • Arm Cannon Mastery: Increases Arm Cannon mastery, Crit Rate, and Attack Power.
    • Level 10: Mastery: +50%. Crit Rate: +30%. Attack Power: +20.
  • Physical Training: Permanently increases STR and DEX.
    • Level 5: STR/DEX: +30.
  • Charge Mastery: Decrease charge time for charge skills. Increases damage.
    • Level 14: Decrease charge times by 15%. Damage: +20%. Immediately reloads 1 Ammo when using a charge skill. After using a charge skill, damage taken is reduced by 20%.
  • Revolving Cannon Plus:
    • Level 20: Bunker Buster Explosion damage: +20% points. Shockwave 1 damage: +40% points. Additional attack damage due to overheat: +20% points. Revolving Cannon damage duringMagnum Punch: +40% points. Maximum Dynamo Gauge power level capacity increased to 4. Maximum Ammo capacity increased to 4. Using Bunker Buster Explosion while the Dynamo Gauge is at 4 bars or higher increases damage by 40% points and will generate Shockwave 2, which attacks up to 10 enemies for 100% damage 6 times.

Blaster 3rd Job

  • Hammer Smash: Smash the ground with enough raw, brute force that enemies get launched into the air! Can be charged. Launched enemies will receive a debuff increasing their Final Damage taken for a limited period of time.
    • Level 20: MP Cost: 25. Max number of enemies hit: 8. Damage: 200%. Number of Attacks: 6.
    • Debuff: 10% extra Final Damage taken. Duration: 10 seconds.
    • Upon releasing a Charged Hammer Smash, creates a shockwave that lasts for 5 seconds and hits up to 8 enemies for 150% damage, 2 times. Enemies hit by this shockwave will receive the debuff.
    • Double Blast damage: +90% points.
  • Weaving: Explode backwards while avoiding enemy attacks. Can be stopped by jumping. Can be charged.
    • Level 15: MP Cost: 9. Avoidability: +90% for 1.5 seconds after activation. Magnum Punch damage: +105% points.
  • Rocket Rush: Grab onto nearby enemies and drag them in the direction the character is facing. Any enemies caught in the path of the rush will be dragged as well.
    • Level 20: MP Cost: 28. Grab 1 enemy and deal 140% damage, 2 times. During the rush, push back and deal 140% damage to a maximum of 15 enemies.
  • Magnum Launch: Deliver a powerful punch to the enemy held during Rocket Rush. This enemy will then be launched forward a short distance and explode, dealing damage to enemies along the flight path and during the explosion. Can only be used during Rocket Rush.
    • Level 20: MP Cost: 10. Damage: 180%. Number of Attacks: 6. Maximum Enemies Hit: 15.
  • Revolving Cannon Plus II:
    • Level 20: Bunker Buster Explosion damage: +60% points. Shockwave 1 and 2 damage: +80% points. Additional attack damage due to overheat: +60% points. Revolving Cannon damage during Magnum Punch: +60% points. Revolving Cannon damage during Double Blast: +20%. Maximum Dynamo Gauge power level capacity increased to 5. Maximum Ammo capacity increased to 5.
    • Using Bunker Buster Explosion while the Dynamo Gauge is at 5 bars or higher increases damage by 80% points and will generate Shockwave 3, which attacks up to 10 enemies for 180% damage 6 times.
  • Shield Training: Improve the Blast Shield.
    • Level 20: When hit, convert 30% of damage taken into a protective shield. Maximum shield potential is equal to the character’s MaxHP. 40% +50 of the shield’s HP dissipates each second.
    • When the Shield is active: 100% chance of not being knocked back while using Blaster skills.
    • Abnormal Status Resistance: +20%. Elemental Resistance: +20%.
  • Combo Training: Increases effectiveness of link skills and charge skills. Permanently increases attack power.
    • Level 9: Final Damage: +3% per stack. Attack Speed: +1 per 6 stacks. Skill Link Speed: +1 per 10 stacks. Duration: 10 seconds. Can be stacked up to 10 times. Attack Power: +15%.

Blaster 4th Job

  • Shotgun Punch: Punch so hard that it creates a shockwave! Permanently increase Double Blastdamage.
    • Level 30: MP Cost: 70. Max number of enemies hit: 6. Damage: 265%. Number of Attacks: 6. Generates a shockwave that attacks up to 6 enemies for 140% damage, 4 times. Double Blastdamage: +180% points.
  • Muzzle Flash: Instantly move to a nearby enemy during the skill Weaving to perform an attack. Can only be used during Weaving, and can be activated by performing Weaving again.Permanently increases Magnum Punch damage.
    • Level 20: MP Cost: 25. Maximum number of enemies hit: 6. Damage: 500%. Number of Attacks: 3. Magnum Punch damage: +230% points.
  • Ballistic Hurricane: Spin really fast and punch everything! Turn your body into a weapon as you transform into a cyclone of punches, sucking in everything around you and dealing massive damage. During this skill, use the left and right arrow keys to move across the field while continuing to attack. Permanently increases Hammer Smash damage.
    • Level 30: MP Cost: 25. Maximum number of enemies hit: 12. Damage: 700%. Duration: 6 seconds. Cooldown: 45 seconds. After the skill ends, perform a jumping uppercut that attacks up to 12 enemies for 2100% damage and sends them flying. Max Damage: 99,999,999. Hammer Smash damage: +195% points.
  • Revolving Blast: Reload all the Ammo in the Dynamo Gauge and then rush, grab, and stun the enemy you’re facing with the highest HP. Use Revolving Cannon while holding the enemy to unleash a flurry of explosive punches on them. Use Revolving Cannon six times and perform the skill again to unleash a Bunker Buster for extra damage. Activates on enemies that cannot be stunned. Invincible while holding an enemy. Bunker Buster damage ignores additional Defense Rate. Affected enemy is immune to Stun for 60 seconds.
    • Level 30: MP Cost: 200. Initial Damage from Rush, Grab, and Stun: 230%. Number of Attacks: 2. Cooldown: 150 seconds. Revolving Cannon can hit up to 6 times:
      • 1st Hit: Damage: 200%. Number of Attacks: 4.
      • 2nd Hit: Damage: 220%. Number of Attacks: 4.
      • 3rd Hit: Damage: 240%. Number of Attacks: 4.
      • 4th Hit: Damage: 260%. Number of Attacks: 4.
      • 5th Hit: Damage: 280%. Number of Attacks: 4.
      • 6th Hit: Damage: 300%. Number of Attacks: 4.
    • Bunker Buster: Damage: 350%. Number of Attacks: 8. Ignores 80% Defense Rate. Max Damage: 99,999,999.
  • Vitality Shield: Converts an active Blast Shield to HP. If there is no active Blast Shield or your HP is full, this skill cannot be used. For a short time after activation, all incoming damage is reduced. Damage reduction is determined by Charge Mastery. Permanently increases Magnum Launchdamage.
    • Level 10: MP Cost: 100. Recovers HP equal to the sum of the dissipated Blast Shield and 50% of your max HP. Damage reduction buff duration: 15 seconds. Cooldown: 150 seconds. Magnum Launch damage: +150% points.
  • Maple Warrior: Temporarily increase the stats of all party members.
    • Level 30: MP Cost: 70. All stats: +15%. Duration: 900 seconds.
  • Hero’s Will: Ignore some abnormal status effects.
    • Level 5: MP Cost: 30. Cooldown: 360 seconds.
  • Revolving Cannon Plus III:
    • Level 20: Bunker Buster Explosion damage: +120% points. Shockwave 1, 2, and 3 damage: +170% points. Additional attack damage due to overheat: +140% points. Revolving Cannon damage during Magnum Punch: +140% points. Revolving Cannon damage during Double Blast: +100%. Maximum Dynamo Gauge power level capacity increased to 6. Maximum Ammo capacity increased to 6. Using Bunker Buster Explosion while the Dynamo Gauge is at 6 bars or higher increases damage by 150% points and will generate Shockwave 4, which attacks up to 10 enemies for 320% damage 6 times.
  • Shield Training II: Improve the Blast Shield. Permanently increase Rocket Rush damage.
    • Level 20: When hit, convert 50% of damage taken into a protective shield. Maximum shield potential is equal to the character’s MaxHP. 40% +50 of the shield’s HP dissipates each second.
    • When the Shield is active: 100% chance of not being knocked back while using Blaster Skills.
    • Abnormal Status Resistance: +20%. Elemental Resistance: +20%.
    • Rocket Rush damage: +80% points
  • Gauntlet Expert: Increases the Mastery, Min/Max Crit Damage, and Boss Attack Damage of the Arm Cannon.
    • Level 30: Mastery: +70%. Min/Max Crit Damage: +15%. Boss ATT: +15%.
  • Advanced Charge Mastery: Decrease charge time for charge skills. Overwrites the buffs/enhancements from Charge Mastery. Decreases damage take. Permanently ignores a portion of enemies’ defense rate.
    • Level 10: Decrease charge times by 25%. Immediately reloads 2 Ammo when using a charge skill. After using a charge skill, damage taken is reduced by 35%. Permanently ignore 35% of enemies’ defense rate. Damage taken is reduced by 15%.
  • Combo Training 2: Increases effectiveness of link skills and charge skills. Overwrites the buffs/enhancements from Combo Training. Permanently increases attack power.
    • Level 9: Final Damage: +5% per stack. Crit Rate: +3% per stack. Attack Speed: +1 per 6 stacks. Skill Link Speed: +1 per 5 stacks. Duration: 10 seconds. Can be stacked up to 10 times. Attack Power: +40.

Blaster Hyper Skills

  • Passive Skills:
    • Aftershock Punch: Increases the number of times that shockwaves generated from a chargedHammer Smash or Shotgun Punch will hit.
      • Level 1: Number of Attacks: +2.
    • Power Punch: Increases the damage of Magnum Punch, Double Blast, Hammer Smash,Shotgun Punch, Muzzle Flash, and Ballistic Hurricane.
      • Level 1: Damage: +10%.
    • Piercing Punch: Increases the defense rate that is ignored by Magnum Punch, Double Blast,Hammer Smash, Shotgun Punch, Muzzle Flash, and Ballistic Hurricane.
      • Level 1: Defense Ignored: 20%.
    • Improved Bunker Explosion: Increases the damage of Bunker Buster Explosion.
      • Level 1: Damage: +20%.
    • Improved Bunker Shockwave: Increases the damage of the shockwaves(s) generated by Bunker Buster Explosion.

    • Bunker Explosion Guard Bonus: Grants a guarding bonus during Bunker Buster Explosion.

    • Blast Shield Recovery: While the Blast Shield dissipates, recover HP relative to the dissipation rate.
      • Level 1: Recover 50% of the dissipating Blast Shield as HP.
    • Speedy Ballistic Hurricane: Reduces the cooldown of Ballistic Hurricane.
      • Level 1: Cooldown: -20%.
    • Speedy Vitality Shield: Reduces the cooldown of Vitality Shield.
      • Level 1: Cooldown: -20%.
  • Active Skills:
    • Hyper Magnum Punch: Charge a punch powerful enough to wipe out all opposition. The longer the skill is charged, the more shockwaves that will be generated. While charging, DEF is improved, Abnormal Status Resistance increases, and you will not be knocked back by any attack. The final damage increases depending on the number of attacks taken while charging. Charge time is not affected by Charge Mastery. If no enemy is in range after the initial charge, the attack and the shockwaves will not occur.
      • Level 1: MP Cost: 400. Maximum number of enemies hit: 15. Damage: 500%. Number of Attacks: 15. Max damage: 99,999,999.
      • Shockwave damage: 250%. Number of Attacks: 8.
      • Can be enhanced up to 3 levels by charging. Each level adds another Shockwave.
        • Shockwave 1: Damage: 350%. Number of Attacks: 8.
        • Shockwave 2: Damage: 450%. Number of Attacks: 8.
        • Shockwave 3: Damage: 550%. Number of Attacks: 8.
      • While charging, Defense boosts from Charge Mastery are applied. Abnormal Status Resistance increases by 100%. Each attack taken during the charge will increase final damage by 5%, up to 50%. Can be charged for 5 seconds.
      • Cooldown: 150 seconds.
    • For Liberty: Increase attack power.
      • Level 1: MP Cost: 100. Duration: 60 seconds. Damage: +10%. Max Damage: +10%. Cooldown: 120 seconds. Only applies to Resistance, Demon, and Xenon characters.
    • Cannon Overdrive: Increases the power of Revolving Cannon, decreases the amount of time it takes to reload Ammo, and decreases the cooldown of the Dynamo Gauge when it overheats.
      • Level 1: MP Cost: 200. Duration: 30 seconds. Increase damage for skills that use Ammo by 50%. Ammo auto-reload time decreased by 70%. The Dynamo Gauge overheat duration after using Bunker Buster Explosion is reduced to 1 second. Cooldown: 210 seconds.
