Things have been pretty slow since Christmas, so I have decided to compile a list of my 5 most anticipated game of 2016.
Rank 5 is the new Hitman title, the new map sizes are said to be 6-7 folds times bigger than from previous titles. This new Hitman is also suppose to feature an all-new story. I love these games because they actually utilizes stealth mechanics and give NPC unique AI that can either be detrimental or beneficial to my style of approach. Hitman titles always offer a huge amount of replayability.
Initially, Hitman was suppose to debut on December 8th but has been delayed until March 11th, 2016. They have altered the release date, pray they don’t alter it any further.
Horizon: Zero Dawn, Guerrilla Games’ new IP looks very promising. The game being set in a future where humans are no longer the dominant species and somehow were set back to the stone-age seems like it could have a very potential story, maybe even producing some sequels. I wouldn’t mind spending hours exploring this new post post-apocalypse world where mechanics are now the big dog and uncovering the lore of the game.
On top of that, it’s a 3rd person, open-world, action RPG and is being developed by Guerrilla Games who brought us the Killzone Franchise.
I have my doubts on if this game is actually releasing next year, but after seeing gameplay and it’s concept; it should be a very promising game. If this game actually released next year, It will be my first experience with flying ships. What I find really appealing about this game to me is it’s terraforming, resource farming, trading features, making it a very immersive world. The game is also suppose to be have a secret story to it where it will be revealed when somebody reaches the core of the universe.
The Sentinel Robot Race is also very interesting and probably has something to do with the underlying story of the game, maybe some Matrix like thing.
Number 2 is Black Desert, this is the MMORPG that I have been waiting for. Again, I have my doubt that it is going to release next year since it has been in closed beta testing since October of 2013 and was initially suppose to release last year December. The game’s combat looks very interactive and fun since it will utilize a combo mechanic and require some extent of skill to properly execute. Also, these Graphics are insane and the world is so immersive. Their is also so many other aspects of the game such as trading, taming, fishing, housing and much more.
The character customization in Black Desert is just amazing, you can tweak every nook and cranny of your character ranging from appearance to skill.
For me, my most anticipated game is Dark Souls 3. I’m mainly most anticipated for this because of the story since every Souls game is interconnected and this should reveal many mysterious from the previous games. I just find exploring and fighting these uniquely designed creeps and bosses super rewarding. What makes these experience even more appealing is that each of these things have their own unique backstory. The combat is also something very similar to Bloodborne, being more fast-paced and fluid.
The Division is a 3rd person shooter, open world, action rpg, tactical game that features both singleplayer and multiplayer. The main selling point of this game is that it’s a multiplayer loot survival game that features a PVP zone. I’m not sure if this game is going to meet everyone’s expectation because it has been delayed multiple times and previous features have been removed such as:
Not sure if this is still relevant but The Division was suppose to release with an app that allowed the play to use their devices to activate support abilities whilst also checking the map for events. This is just way too intense of a map, not even sure where I am.
Overall, I am really excited for this title but I am also skeptical if this combination of genres will be relevant and successful. Other than that, the graphics are crisp, clear and fluid while the environment is very detail and elegant. Wondering if there will be any destructible environments?
This is the Doom reboot that features numerous items from its predecessors. The Doom Franchise advocates an aggressive playstyle as their is no passive health regen forcing players to actively engage in battle so enemies will occasionally drop health pacts. Doom Snapmap will allow Doom to have numerous hours of replayability as it introduces player made maps and gamemodes.
Blade & Soul
If Black Desert isn’t releasing this year, Blade & Soul will be replacing it. Blade & Soul mainly focuses on combat either in the form of PVE or PVP focus. Both of these style of gameplay have longevity such as PVP has a ranking system and PVE has dungeons, labyrinths and boss fights. The game is more stylized on Asian mythology and stories explaining the focus on martial art focused classes; it also features breath taking landscapes pertaining influence from the eastern world.
Now that you have heard my top 5 most anticipated games, what are yours?
