The Shin Megami Tensei and Fire Emblem crossover shows new characters and gives more insight on the mechanics at the new E3 trailer!
The beginning shows Kiria (original character) and Tiki (Fire Emblem) singing, which possibly means that songs are going to be very important to the story (for the few who have played Shining Blade, you’ll understand). Not only that, but there are a few new characters and designs for existing ones. Chrom, Caeda, and Cain (all from Fire Emblem) get new designs as they are now “Mirages”. Also included is the design for Tiki from Fire Emblem.
The trailer is only in Japanese, just like the previous one. Chrom, Caeda, and Cain were described as “mirages” and are usually seen WITH their character or possibly fused with them (hence a costume change on certain characters). This may be where the “Shin Megami Tensei” part comes in where you summon the mirages (who are the crossover characters most likely) and use them in battle with you. Another cutscene shows the main protagonist giving a handshake to Chrom, which may allude to SMT more where you have to recruit these Mirages before being able to summon them. The game is set to launch in 2016.
